The exhibit features ceramic sculpture and wearable art by Jill Watts.

Jill’s style has an immediacy through intense gestures, often contorted bodies rapidly formed, that intensifies the often uneasy and even dangerous situation faced by the protagonists in her. Curated by artists Catherine Smith and Katie Dye, this is Jill Watts first retrospect that brings together a vast scope of her talents as one of Worcester’s most diverse artist.

Gallery hours: Mondays 12 to 3 pm; Wednesdays 2 to 4 pm; Thursdays 1 to 5 pm; Fridays 11 to 2  pm; or by appointment. Free to all!

Prabha and Anu are Malayali nurses living together in Mumbai. Prabha is straitlaced and upright, and yearns for her husband who migrated to Germany soon after their marriage. Anu is more outgoing, and is having a secret affair with a Muslim man named Shiaz. A doctor, Manoj, tries to woo Prabha, but she rejects his advances, claiming her marital status.

Nurse Prabha’s daily life in Mumbai takes an unexpected turn when a surprise present arrives from her estranged husband. Her younger roommate, Anu, faces frustration in her quest to secure a private spot in the city to be intimate with her partner.

“All We Imagine as Light” is a lustrous achievement that announces Payal Kapadia as an essential filmmaker.

Run time is 1 hour 58 minutes. NR.

The Chris Fitz Band is a hot pot of blues jambalaya, mixing swing, jump, Chicago and Texas blues styles with a healthy dose of funk, soul, rock-n-roll, and a touch of British blues rock (think Eric Clapton with the Blues Breakers and Cream).

This power trio has a spicy sound all their own, and they’re bring it to the Frontroom, presented by WCUW’s Friday Night Blues with Darren and the Mayor.

Shot entirely in secret, Mohammad Rasoulof’s award-winning thriller, “The Seed of the Sacred Fig”, centers on a family thrust into the public eye when Iman is appointed as an investigating judge in Tehran.

As political unrest erupts in the streets, Iman realizes that his job is even more dangerous than expected, making him increasingly paranoid and distrustful, even of his own wife Najmeh and daughters Sana and Rezvan.
